Over the weekend of the 2014 Hamburg Cruise Days, around 600,000 visitors strolled along the more than four-kilometre event promenade between the Cruise Center Altona and the HafenCity and enjoyed the wonderful world of cruises at close quarters.

The uncontested highlight of the event was the grand Hamburg Cruise Days Parade on Saturday evening, where four of the six cruise ships that took part in the event sailed down the Elbe, through the illuminated blue port and accompanied by a dazzling firework display. The programme on land with the 12 Theme Islands was equally popular, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors.

The Hamburg Convention Bureau was highly satisfied with the event: “The Hamburg Cruise Days and Blue Port Hamburg have become firm fixtures in our city’s events calendar. Six hundred thousand visitors, a significant proportion of whom had come to Hamburg especially for the event, are impressive proof of the appeal of both our city and the world of cruises. After this fabulous event, we have our eyes firmly fixed on the future and are immensely looking forward to 2015.”
