For three days, against the unique backdrop of the River Elbe and the passing ships, visitors will be invited to dance and lounge until well after sunset at the Tanzboden in the Holzhafen, where it’s all about joining in.
Swing Beyond The Sea is the name of the event that takes place here on Friday, starting 4.00 pm, with the dance academy Dancealot: between the dance sessions and shows, visitors will be invited to dance swing to their heart’s content.

The highlights include taster sessions in swing/lindy hop and the Charleston, a dance performance with a fashion and hairstyle show and, from 9.00 pm until midnight, a swing dance party with DJane Kerlin da Silva.

Latin Moves – salsa and more: from 12.00 midday on Saturday the expert dance school Time4Salsa will be presenting live music and dance from Latin America. Singer Lorena Mazuera and guitarist Roberto Hurtado will be playing Latin-American pop songs, and the audience is invited to dance Salsa Romantico & Bachata, learn some new moves at a Kizomba workshop and try out all these new skills at the Latin Party with DJ Juan Carlos from 8.00 pm until midnight.

Sunday kicks off with a Salsa, Brunch & Tango event at 12.00 midday. After several Salsa Romantico, Bachata and Kizomba workshops, visitors will be whisked away to the world of Tango Argentino with a taster session for beginners and a dance performance by professional tango dancer Alejandro Sanguineti and his partner Elli Erichreineke.

Between 5.00 pm and 8.00 pm it’s time for Milonga – time to dance like you’re on the streets of Buenos Aires. DJane Elli will be providing the musical setting with tracks from the 1930s to 1950s.

The biggest stage at the Hamburg Cruise Days, presented by NDR 90,3 and the TV programme Hamburg Journal. Experience three days of scintillating musical variety, ranging from traditional Northern German folk music to rock and pop, live performances by well-known artists and the best in entertainment – all presented by Michael Wittig.

The highlights: on Friday, two jaunty choirs - the Inseldeerns and the Swinging Colors – will be captivating the audience (the shows start at 7.00 pm); this is followed by the best of pop and soul courtesy of Max & Friends feat. Nathalie Dorra and Ole Soul (showtime 9.15 pm).

On Saturday, the show gets off to a local start with the Hamburger Lotsenchor (12.00 midday). Next on stage at 4.15 pm are the Hot Banditoz with an infectious programme of sing-along summer hits.

A true pop highlight takes to the stage in the early evening: the Hamburg band Orange Blue with Vince Bahrdt and Volkan Baydar – frequently featured on radio and TV – perform at 6.00 pm.

After the NDR live broadcast from the Hamburg Cruise Days, Rudolf Rock & die Schocker feat. Susi Salm take to the stage to shake things up.

On Sunday, the show starts at 12.00 midday with an beat music opener by Suzie and the Seniors. At 2.30 pm, Finkwarder Speeldeel present their modern take on Hamburg folk music; the pop duo Nervling takes to the stage at 4.00 pm.

As a final sparkling touch for the end of the Hamburg Cruise Days, the Rockhouse Brothers will be taking the audience off on a musical trip from rockabilly to pop (showtime 6.00 pm).

With up to four 90-minute performances daily, including shows by artistes from the “aerial Dance academy”, audiences are invited to  marvel at the breath-taking sight of weightless aerial skills. The performers use vertical ropes and silks, trapezes and bungee trapezes, a Chinese mast, aerial rings and, of course, a classic high wire. Each show is unique and exclusive, and each evening culminates in a spectacular fire show.
