Hamburg Cruise Week in September 2017

The world’s only Cruise Week: Europe’s biggest public cruise event, the Hamburg Cruise Days, and the leading European trade show for the cruise industry, Seatrade Europe, have been cooperating since 2015. Together, the cruise event and the trade show form a unique Cruise Week that brings tourists, service providers and the cruise industry to Hamburg every two years. The artistic anchor is the lighting installation, Blue Port Hamburg. The Cruise Week is complemented by events organised under the umbrella of fvw CruiseLive, the annual, one-day congress for travel sales for the cruise business. In 2017 the Cruise Week will take place from 1 - 10 September. The dates for 2019 are from 6 -15 September.

About the Hamburg Cruise Days

The Hamburg Cruise Days 2017 take place from 8 - 10 September. During this attractive event 11 cruise ships will call in on the port of Hamburg. Themed Islands along the waterfront bring the pleasure of cruises onto land for visitors to experience. The backdrop is provided by BLUE PORT HAMBURG, an illuminated installation by artist Michael Batz. The Hamburg Cruise Days are taking place for the sixth time and are organised by the Hamburg agencies uba gmbh and redroses communications GmbH under license from the Hamburg Convention Bureau GmbH. The next Hamburg Cruise Days will take place from 13 - 15 September 2019.

About Seatrade Europe

Seatrade Europe, the leading trade event for the European cruise industry, takes place at the heart of Hamburg, Germany's famous seaport on the Elbe River. Industry decision-makers and professionals meet here to exchange ideas, set new trends and expand their business networks. Exhibitors include shipyards, ship chandlers, food and beverage suppliers, classification societies, cruise ports and shipbrokers. From small-scale on-board hospitals to huge restaurant kitchens, from waste disposal to entertainment equipment, operations on board a cruise ship are highly complex, requiring perfect logistics. At the two-day conference held in parallel with the exhibition, high-level experts will discuss current industry topics. Seatrade Europe will open its doors from 6 to 8 September 2017.

About Blue Port Hamburg

Since 2008, the illuminated art project BLUE PORT HAMBURG by artist Michael Batz has been lighting up the port of Hamburg at night with a magical blue light, illuminating more than 100 objects in and around the port. This spectacle creates a link between the port and the city, between land and the river, between the cruisers and visitors at the Hamburg Cruise Days. In 2017, the blue lights will start at sunset on 1 September, and will illuminate the port and the city around it every day until 10 September.

About fvw CruiseLive

On 8 September 2017, fvw will be organising a one-day cruise trade congress entitled “Cruise live” which is aimed at travel agency sales staff. The focus of the event will be on growth in the cruise industry and the many options available in modern cruising. Selected shipping companies will be presenting their products and marketing concepts in workshops.
