From 8 - 10 September 2017 the popular maritime event will be taking place for the sixth time. The Hamburg Cruise Days will again take place in conjunction with Europe’s leading congress and trade show for the cruise industry, Seatrade Europe (6 - 8 September 2017), and a wide range of other trade events, as the globally unique Cruise Week. As in previous years, the illuminated artwork Blue Port Hamburg by lighting artist Michael Batz will provide the artistic anchor for the event.
The sixth Hamburg Cruise Days this year are expected to set new attendance records: ten cruise ships will be calling in on the port for the Hamburg Cruise Days’ weekend: the AIDAprima (AIDA Cruises), MSC Preziosa (MSC Cruises), Europa and Europa 2 (both Hapag-Lloyd Cruises), Mein Schiff 3 (TUI Cruises), Albatros and Amadea (both Phoenix Reisen), Silver Wind (Silversea Cruises), Norwegian Jade (Norwegian Cruise Line) and the river cruise ship Sans Souci (Plantours).
Over the past years Hamburg has emerged as a hotspot for the international cruise industry. This coming September, for the first time, the city is bringing all its cruise events together in a dazzling celebration of cruising entitled “Hamburg welcomes you on board”. This ten-day festival, which takes place from 4 – 13 September, will be welcoming both the general public and industry experts. Last year, Hamburg firmly catapulted itself to the top of the German cruise ranking; with 189 arrivals and around 590,000 passengers, the city has also internationally climbed to the higher echelons of the cruise industry

Following the huge success of the Hamburg Cruise Days 2014, the planning for next year’s Cruise Days is now in full swing. As many as eight luxury liners have signed up for next year’s event, which is due to take place from 11 to 13 September 2015. For the first time in the history of the Hamburg Cruise Days, the event will be preceded by the Seatrade Europe convention. The second day of this year’s Hamburg Cruise Days has once again closed with a record attendance: the event drew approximately 350,000 people to the port of Hamburg.
From 28 July to 3 August 2014, the magic of blue will once again enchant the Hanseatic city of Hamburg for the fourth time: before and during this year’s Hamburg Cruise Days, light artist Michael Batz will once again stage his BLUE PORT HAMBURG project, bathing the harbour and Hamburg's most beautiful sights in magical blue light for a full week. The official light-up ceremony will take place on 28 July.
