Captain’s Dinner at the Hamburg Cruise Days

Dinner is served at the Hamburg Cruise Days! For the Captain’s Dinner the forecourt of the Landungsbrücken will be transformed into a festive dining room. From August 17 - 19, 2012, Hamburg’s top gastronomes will be serving a choice of the finest culinary delicacies – charming, elegant and unmistakably Hanseatic.  


The Captain’s Dinner is one of the highlights of any cruise. And so, naturally, this glamorous event also takes pride of place at this year’s Hamburg Cruise Days, with the difference that this particular dinner takes place on land, lasts for three days and can be attended without evening wear! On the forecourt of the Landungsbrücken ten of the city’s top gastronomes and hoteliers will be presenting their exquisite creations. The participants include:

Just like a real Captain’s Dinner, guests can expect to enjoy high quality fine dining. Graceful pagoda marquees create an elegant atmosphere; a large, covered seating area ensures an agreeably pleasant ambience. The 

Captain’s Dinner will be accompanied by a charming musical programme played live on a small bandstand. 


“The Captain‘s Dinner is one of the highlights of our varied Theme Islands which we will be setting up to bring the magical world of cruise ships onto dry land for visitors to experience”, explains Uwe Bergmann, owner of the event agency uba gmbh and organiser of the Hamburg Cruise Days 2012. “For us it was especially important to make the setting different from the other major events that take place here, and to create an authentic cruise atmosphere.
